What this site counts

sluiceway.dev counts page views and a few named clicks with Umami, on our own machine. It sets no cookie and stores nothing in your browser.

A page view

Each time you open a page here, the Umami script sends:

  • the page's address, without the query string
  • the page title
  • the address of the page you came from
  • your screen size
  • your browser's language

The Umami server works out your browser, operating system and device type from your browser's user agent, and your country, region and city from your IP address. It does not store the IP address.

A link to another part of the same page, such as How it works, counts as a page view too, with that part's address.

The clicks we count

These six clicks, and no others. Each one is sent with its name, the page-view details above, and one word for where it was, such as the menu, the footer or the plan.

  • install-click: Add it to your repo at the top of the home page and on the Free plan, and Read the setup guide.
  • docs-click: a link to the docs at docs.sluiceway.dev: in the menu, in the footer and in the setup steps.
  • github-click: a link to the action's repository on GitHub: in the menu, View on GitHub, and the links inside the example dashboard.
  • waitlist-click: Ask on GitHub in the Sluiceway for teams band, on the home page and the pricing page.
  • waitlist-submit: sending the waitlist form in that band, when the form is shown. The email address you type is not part of the event.
  • tier-click: Ask on GitHub on the Team plan and Get in touch on the Enterprise plan.

Where it goes

Umami runs on our own machine, at analytics.robbeverhelst.be. What it counts is not shared with anyone, and nothing leaves that machine.

How long it is kept

We keep it until we delete it. No automatic deletion is set up.

Cookies and your browser

Counting sets no cookie and stores nothing in your browser. The one thing this site keeps in your browser is the theme you pick with the theme switch, and only once you pick one.

Do Not Track

When your browser sends Do Not Track, the Umami script is not loaded and nothing is counted.
